Treatment Of Depression

Depression is one of the most common diseases these days. There are many causes and its treatment depends on its severity. It either requires psychosocial support or some antidepressant drugs and in a few cases, the patient can treat himself. In this article, we present you with a set of strategies that you can follow to get rid of depression. Certainly, these treatments are effective in non-severe depression, while severe depression requires referral to specialists.

The first key to treating depression is food!

Type of food: If you are following a high-protein diet, reducing carbohydrates in your diet which may be the reason for your depression. Fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes are all foods that help the brain produce improved serotonin for mood.

Fish:

Eat fish three times a week or more. Fish like tuna, sardines, mackerel, and salmon are at the top of the list for treating depression. They contain high levels of omega-3 fatty acids, which improve brain function.

Caffeine:

If you are a cola or coffee addict try to gradually reduce or stop drinking if you can. Many studies indicate that the caffeine in these drinks is closely related to depression because it inhibits the production of serotonin.

Brazilian Walnuts:

Brazilian walnuts contain a large proportion of selenium (100 micrograms per pill), a known substance for its role in the fight against fatigue, anxiety, and depression. They can be obtained from other sources: tuna, shellfish, sunflower seeds.

Tea of Cardamom:

The seeds of cardamom contain volatile oils that are found to be effective in fighting and treating depression. To start the treatment of active depression drink cardamom tea.

Apple:

Apples contain many minerals and essential vitamins, such as vitamin B, Potassium, and Phosphorus, which are all necessary to revitalize nerve cells and improve the functioning of the nervous system as a whole, which is very useful in the treatment of depression.

Garlic:

Garlic has a great effect on improving the mood and eating garlic regularly can be a treatment for depression.

Rose Drink:

You can replace coffee or tea with this drink as a treatment for depression, which you can prepare by mixing about 15 g of rose petals with a glass of boiling water. This drink has an excellent effect in treating depression.

The second key to treat depression is between comfort and activity.

Sports:

Studies indicate that regular exercise plays a major role in improving mood and getting rid of depression. All you need is 20 minutes of physical activity thrice a week. You can practice walking, weightlifting, rope jumping, bike driving, etc.

Rest: As a sufferer of any mental disorder does not need to remind you that psychological comfort is the most important. Try to distance yourself from all kinds of psychological pressure, and get rid of stress in all possible ways.

Worship: We all know that the best way to rest our soul is to worship. Prayer and meditation give untold comfort.  My advice to you is no matter how big your problems are, complain to God before complaining to people and trust that God will resolve it.

Giving:

Try to spread happiness even if you lost it, and believe me you will feel good. Give money to poor people, help those in need, respect the elders and talk to them, participate in volunteer work, community service activities, visit patients. All these things will reduce your depression or stress.

The third key: Dietary Supplements

Vitamin B:

Since vitamin B deficiency is one of the main causes of depression, increasing the content of vitamin B in your diet. You can take vitamin B from its known sources (cashews, liver, eggs, fish, oysters, leafy vegetables) or as supplements of vitamin B.

Folic Acid:

Scientific studies indicate that a very large proportion of people with depression are deficient in folic acid, and unfortunately, the lack of folic acid is the most common types of nutrient deficiencies in women, making them very vulnerable to the risk of depression, 3/4 cup cooked spinach, which is rich in folic acid can help fight depression.

The fourth key: Control Negative Thoughts

Be Positive And Take Life Lightly:

Express your feelings, whether to a friend or a member of your family or even through social media or blogging or writing. Write your feelings in the paper, especially those that are painful. Research has shown that people who write their painful memories for 20 minutes a day improve their mental state much by the fourth day.

Organize Your Responsibilities:

Divide the big tasks into smaller tasks, make priorities for yourself and do only what you can.

Don’t be alone when you are suffering from depression, instead socialize with people.

Avoid Pivotal Decisions:

Do not make any important or pivotal decision in your life, such as divorce, leaving a job or marriage, without consulting the specialists or wise people who are close to you, they are more able to look at it objectively. Try to delay these decisions until you recover from depression.

Get Rid Of The Sources Of Danger:

Try to stay away from everything that may stimulate your depression, such as sad memories or inappropriate people.
